Session 1: Feb. 27th, 2019 - Wainwright Highschool, Fountas and Pinnell Benchmarking, The Kits, The Assessment, and what to do after: Participants in this session will be introduced to all pieces of the F & P Benchmarking Assessment Kits, K-2 and 3-8.
Time will be provided to discuss these pieces and what value they have in tracking reader success. Participants will perform and analyze 2 running records, one from the K-2 kit and the other from the 3-8 kit. Following the analysis of these assessments, participants will be able to identify at least three(3) weaknesses of the readers and the teaching strategies required to help the readers succeed!
Session 2: March 21, 2019 - J.R. Robson Vermilion, Fountas and Pinnell Benchmarking, Fountas and Pinnell Benchmarking Class Assessment Results and what to do with them. Participants in this session will be required to bring class results of the F & P Benchmarking Assessments they have completed in their classrooms. TIME will be given to work through the results of the F & P Benchmarking Assessments that have been completed. Participants will be required to identify at least three(3) weaknesses of every reader. Once the weaknesses have been identified and the level of the readers established, participants will devise the instructional pieces for the most effective reading instruction.
