WORDS THEIR WAY in the Primary and Elementary classroom is an approach to Phonics, Spelling and Vocabulary that can be done in 15-20 minutes per day. It can be an alternative to the traditional spelling program or an addition to the phonics and word work already completed in classrooms. Participants will be provided with an overview of the program, assessment tools, strategies of how to group and implement word sorts for students with differentiated instruction.
Those participating will be emailed materials to copy ahead of time.
Scissors and glue stick will also be required.
This learning opportunity is being offered through a grant from Alberta Education.
