Kara Bowles (@bowlkar) loves to help change mindsets! Throughout her 25 year career she has had many opportunities to work with French Immersion teachers, principals and FSL stakeholders from across Canada in order to strengthen FSL programming. Having worked over 25 years in education, Kara‘sperspective stays rooted in practical implementation tips that work in classrooms and schools. Throughout her career, she has worked as a French teacher, principal, as well as an education officer at the Ontario Ministry of Education in the FSL Policy Implementation Unit. Being part of provincial initiatives has allowed her to develop a broad knowledge base in the CEFR, FSL research and the importance of stakeholder investment. She has presented workshops for leaders across Canada for ACPI, Ontario Modern Language Teachers Association and the Ontario Principal Council. Her online presence can be found through her Ed Talk “Principal to Principal” which discusses the inclusion of students with special education needs and English language learners in FSL programs. Kara looks forward to working with leaders from across Canada to ensure the best possible outcomes for students learning French as a second language.
