There are a number of roles such as directors, coordinators, counselors, OT/PT/SLP, social workers that work with system leadership to support students. Collaborative Response provides the framework for structures and processes that include communication, learning, intervention and action as everyone consistently strives to meet the needs of ALL students. These collaborative structures ensure that the valuable time and resources of all those who support diverse learners is respected but also provides a model not just for them to follow but serves as an example of how they can lead the support structures with the teams they are working with at the school or across the district. This session focuses on the elements of Collaborative Response, how to deeply understand them and also leverage and develop your leadership abilities to use them for all team meetings, case conferences, debriefs, etc so that the meetings are focused, engaging, responsive and action orientated.

Lorna Hewson is an award-winning educator who has served in numerous district leadership roles to support students in inclusive learning environments.
Amber Hester has been an educator for over 20 years, most of those in leadership positions such as principal, district coordinator and assistant superintendent. Amber has developed district teams and school level teams to support all students. She actualized the Collaborative Response Model and expanded the CRM process at a district level. Amber has developed policies, system processes, and procedures to streamline service delivery for students. Amber’s passion and expertise are working collaboratively to plan strategically, build solid teams and increase leadership and staff capacity to determine how teams and systems can best support students. Amber is dedicated to work in a collaborative manner in a variety of capacities to help individuals, teams and systems grow to support all students. Amber is currently a Lead Learner with Jigsaw Learning.
