Through monthly meetings, we will create a collaborative virtual Kindergarten PLC focusing on the new curriculum. The hour will include sharing, questioning, and collaborating in a loosely structured setting. The timeline, topics, and ideas will be based on the needs and wants of the cohort. After the first meeting, we can tailor the details of the meetings to accommodate the group.

About the Presenters

Kathy Charchun

Kathy Charchun is currently a Learning Facilitator with the Southern Alberta Professional Development Consortium. She has been an educator for 30 years serving as a teacher, principal and K-12 divisional Numeracy Lead.  In these roles, she has facilitated professional learning sessions on a variety of teaching and learning topics including mathematics, instructional leadership and goal setting and planning for school improvement. Kathy is passionate about promoting highly effective teacher practice, believes in the power of collaboration and is committed to success for all students within an inclusive environment.

Dr. Trisha Sotropa

ImageTrisha Sotropa is currently a Learning Facilitator with the Southern Alberta Professional Development Consortium. During her career as an educator, she has been involved in leading literacy projects, facilitating social justice initiatives with students and coordinating cooperative planning. During her doctoral studies, Trisha investigated leading through a change process and engaging students and their families. Trisha has a deep love of learning and is always looking for ways to co-construct knowledge with colleagues.
